You'll also want to think about how you'll use the space – for entertaining, relaxing, or both. – and make sure all of your furniture and features are oriented accordingly.

Finally, don't forget the little details! From lighting to plantings to accessories, these elements can really make or break an outdoor space. take the time to plan them out carefully and choose items that complement your overall design. 1. How to Choose the Right Furniture and Accessories

When it comes to furnishing your outdoor living space, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, you'll want to choose furniture and accessories that are durable and can withstand the elements. Second, you'll want to select pieces that are comfortable and inviting. And finally, you'll want to choose items that complement the overall style of your home.

To help you get started, here are a few tips on how to choose the right furniture and accessories for your outdoor living space:

1. Start with the basics. When it comes to furnishing your outdoor space, start with the basics like a comfortable sofa or lounge chair, a coffee table, and an end table. These pieces will provide a foundation for your design and can be easily accessorized with throw pillows, blankets, and greenery.

2. Choose weather-resistant materials. Since your outdoor living space will be exposed to the elements, it's important to choose furniture and accessories made from weather-resistant materials like teak, wicker, aluminum, or stainless steel. These materials will stand up to sun, rain, and wind without showing wear or tear. It is important to invest in outdoor covers. You will thank me in 5 years when your furniture is still in good shape.

3. Create an inviting atmosphere. To make your outdoor oasis feel like a true retreat, focus on creating an inviting atmosphere with cozy furnishings and luxurious details. Add plush throw pillows and blankets for chilly evenings spent outdoors; bistro-style string lights or modern lanterns for a touch of ambiance; or faux fur throws around a concrete fire pit.

4. Use good quality outdoor rugs to create several conversational areas; intimate seating for 2, a gathering place for lounging, and a dining area. Jaipur Living is one of my go-to's for quality outdoor rugs. They do not fade quickly under intense UV rays, nor do they mildew.

2. Ideas for Creating an Outdoor Kitchen

If you love spending time outdoors, then creating an outdoor kitchen is the perfect way to turn your backyard into a luxurious living space. Here are some ideas for how to create an outdoor kitchen that will make entertaining guests or simply enjoying a meal with your family a breeze:

1. Start with a good layout: When planning your outdoor kitchen, it's important to think about the flow of traffic and how people will move around. You don't want anyone getting in the way of the grill or being too far away from the fridge. A good layout will make your outdoor kitchen both functional and stylish.

2. Incorporate appliances: An outdoor kitchen is not complete without a grill, sink, and refrigerator. Other popular appliances include pizza ovens, smokers, and kegerators. Choose appliances that fit your needs and budget.

3. Consider countertops: Countertops are an important part of any kitchen, indoor or outdoor. They need to be durable enough to withstand the elements and cooking abuse. Popular materials for outdoor countertops include concrete, stone, tile, and stainless steel.

4. Don't forget storage: Just like an indoor kitchen, you'll need somewhere to store all of your pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc. Outdoor cabinets and storage solutions are designed to withstand the elements while keeping your things organized.

5. Add some style: Your outdoor kitchen should reflect your personal style just like any other room in your house.

3. Landscaping Tips to Enhance Your Space

When it comes to landscaping your backyard, there are a few key things to keep in mind to enhance your space. First, think about the overall look you want to achieve. Do you want a more naturalistic feel or a more formal look? Once you have an idea of the general atmosphere you want to create, you can start planning out specific features.

One important tip is to use a variety of plants and textures to create interest and depth in your landscape. Incorporating different heights, leaf shapes, and colors will give your yard dimension and make it more visually appealing. Another great way to add interest is by using water features such as fountains or ponds. The sound of running water can be very soothing and create a relaxing ambiance.

Hardscaping can also be a great way to enhance your backyard space. No matter what type of changes you make to your landscape, always remember to take into account the maintenance required for each element. With proper planning and care, you can create an outdoor living space that you will enjoy for years to come!

Mid-Century Moroccan Revival

Originally this was an unused pergola. I created a dining experience for my clients and their guests by placing a 101” weather-resistant mid-century wicker table with Cabana-style orange striped lumbar pillows and custom bench cushions for a luxury experience. And mid-century modern quality recycled plastic chairs and matching cushions.

In addition, solar hanging lanterns and table lanterns with battery-operated pillar candles for ambiance at night under the grape vines.

4. Lighting Ideas

There are a few things to consider when planning your outdoor lighting. You'll want to take into account the different areas of your retreat, and how you want each one to feel. For example, do you want a cozy seating area with soft lighting, or a bright and airy dining area?

Once you've decided on the overall mood you want to create, it's time to start planning your lighting. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. String lights are always a classic choice for creating an inviting atmosphere. They can be draped over trees, fences, or even umbrellas for a magical touch.

2. Candles are another great way to add ambiance to your outdoor space. Group them together on tables or paths for a romantic look, or place them in lanterns for a more whimsical effect.

3. Path lights are perfect for illuminating walkways and garden beds. Choose solar-powered lights to save on energy costs, or go for rechargeable battery-operated lights if you want the freedom to move them around as needed.

4. Spotlights can be used to highlight special features in your backyard, such as sculptures or water features. Uplighting is also a popular option for accenting trees and other tall plants.
